Burnt Orange Book Press — Check It Out!

Our great friends at Forty Acres Press, part of the University Co-op in Austin, were kind enough to host a reception for WLT members last Wednesday, Sept. 29, to introduce us to BOB (The Burnt Orange Book Machine)—the very first Espresso Book Machine in the state of Texas. With wine and food in hand, WLT members marveled over all that BOB has to offer. The machine can automatically print, bind, and trim store-quality paperback books in less than five minutes. It’s a fast and affordable alternative for à la carte book orders—they’ll print as many or as few as you like.

League member Christina Johnson wrote to us after the event. “I was impressed with the Burnt Orange Book Machine (BOB). I’d never seen anything like it, and right now I feel like it’s one of the best-kept secrets for hopeful authors. BOB puts the future of a writer’s work back into the hands of the writer. It’s amazing we live in a day and age where we have tools like this at our disposal. I for one am looking forward to trying it out.”

If you have any questions about BOB, contact Chad Stith at the University Co-op (cstith@universitycoop.com). He’d love to hear from you. A BIG thank you to George Mitchell and our friends at Forty Acres Press and the University Co-op for hosting such a great event. And another hearty thanks to League members Christina Johnson for sharing her thoughts and Cliff Avery for photographing the party.
